Aha! Fooled ya! It's on time for a change! Happy April Fool's,
everyone, and welcome, finally, to springtime! It may not be
ideal weather for everyone reading this, but here in Sacramento,
life's good. Sunny skies, mid- to -high-70s, gorgeous! Really
gets you into that whole renewal mood and puts that extra "spring"
in your step. And we're trying to enjoy it, because this kind
of weather tends to last for, like, a couple of weeks in Sac
and then we jump right into stifling summer heat. But while
we got it, we love it! And that means we're that much closer
to summer movies, Comic-Cons, and all kinds of summertime adventures,
so bring it on!
Cover Lovin'
A couple of "welcome back to the 'Times'"
moments here for Mr. Bill Jackson, who hits us with Omniverse
art once again! This time it's an all-new Lodestone shot (surprise,
Martin! Don't say I never got ya nuthin'...). And hopefully
a little harbinger of more things to come in the forthcoming
online rebirth of the old 'Times Omniverse project. Wheels are
turning...
...beginning with the second "welcome back",
that sees Bill's return not only to covers, but with his own
zine! If you've been waiting for more "Stuck Inside of
Mobile" since the print 'Times went down seven years ago,
your wait is OVER. Bill is back, and starts off his first online
zine with a LOAD of goodies. Great to have you with us once
more, Bill!
Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Tim, me and some work buddies
kicking it Irish style at Streets of London
The sentiment is only slightly late, and still close enough
to throw one at you. I know it's a holiday that means a lot
of a couple of us here. As for me and Tim, we took full advantage
of having the holiday on a Saturday and started early down at
Streets of London, our favorite hangout in Sac, with a group
of pals from work. Had a grand time! Hope everyone else enjoy
theirs.
Clobberin' Con a-Comin'
That's right, folks, it's coming up on that time of the year
again, so don't forget that the annual Clobberin' Con--taking
place at it's usual spot, Comic-Con International in San Diego--is
on the way! July 26-29 are the official Con dates. Don't know
yet who's going to be able to make it, as there's some other
stuff going on (see the next announcement) this summer, but
thus far I'll be there (and sounds like A.T. will be going with
me), and Tim's still a maybe. I'm pretty sure Ben and Kaye will
be there for the Saturday, as usual, as they're lucky enough
to be able to just drive down from Orange County (and if their
boys are lucky, they'll get to get dragged along again, too).
As we get closer, I'll keep you updated on who's planning to
show, but if there's any chance that you might, I guarantee,
as always, that you won't regret it!
Forte 20th Anniversary Seattle Celebration
a Go!
Just about twenty years ago (not long before the 'Times got
started), K.C., Tim, Kaye, Jeff and I began a little game called
Forte. Eight years later, the game finally closed its doors,
with 328 runs, thousands of memories, and many lifelong friendships
in its wake. And the little campaign that grew to be one of
the most memorable Champs games ever kept right on going, even
WITHOUT a campaign, in Con games and places like the ForteUniverse
site, and it just keeps on going today.
We've been talking about this idea for a while...getting as
many Forte players together as we could for a reunion--in Forte's
city, Seattle--to celebrate the milestone. And after some email
discussions and decisions, it's finally going down. So it looks
like the celebration will happen the weekend of August 10th
- 12th. It will be hosted by Seattle resident Aaron (and his
lovely and brave bride, Jeni), and so far it looks GM K.C. will
be there, and players Jeff, Randy, Jim, Adam, myself, and hopefully
(still working out the details) Kaye and Ben. Aaron has a whole
schedule planned for us, which includes a barbecue on Friday,
a Seattle tour (Forte style) on Saturday, followed up by the
big event Saturday night...the 20th anniversary Forte game,
run by K.C. (of course!). We're all very psyched about it, and
can't wait to all get together, relive the memories, and go
old-school for some Forte gaming. I'm sure we'll have plenty
of photos and memories to share with you after it's done. So
stay tuned for more news as it gets closer!
