ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Michael O'Connell is the Central Mailer for the Clobberin' Times Online. He was one of the founding members of the long-running print version of the Clobberin' Times and remained a member until the end of the publication's decade-plus run, and served as the Central Mailer for two years there.

Michael has played Champions since high school, starting with the first edition of the rules. He was a founding player in K.C. Ryan's Paragons campaign, where he played the character Knightmare; in the follow-up campaign, the MidKnights, where he played Delta Fox; and in the final K.C. Ryan Sacramento campaign, the vastly successful Forte game that ran from 1987 to 1995, where he played the characters Dr. Jackal and Twostep. Other notable characters of his include Fridge in Kevin Jones' Minutemen game, and Monument in Ken Wood's The Firm, which became a comic series that ran in the Clobberin' Times (written by Michael). He has run several campaigns over the years, including Pavilion, APEX, and the sequel campaign to Forte, "Forte 2000", and has run a number of convention games over the years at the annual Clobberin' Times gathering at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Michael is a writer who has written fiction for the Clobberin' Times for years...including ongoing series for the both of the 'Times shared fiction projects, ConTinuum and Omniverse, where he wrote "Windjammer" and "Tag & Dream Girl, Freelance Heroes", respectively. He also writes fiction for web pages such as Forte 2000 and Forte '05, stories based on the Forte campaign universe. He has written comic scripts for Ripoff Press, and most recently published "The Nice Guy", the print version of the popular online comic he created with Tim Watts for their company, Fool Court Press.

Michael lives in Sacramento, California, and works in the auto insurance industry when not pursuing writing and web projects.
