0 6 / 2 6 / 0 8 Yeah, it's been a while. No new stories yet, but they're in the works, trust me. We did, however, get around to adding several new pieces of art. First, Eryck Webb returns for some new color portraits shots of the team. Check out his work on Anvil/Mist, Nightshift/Secundus and Heatspell/Max. And other dazzling color work (in color this time!) comes from Dennis Martin Willman, with a Bobby "Max" McMillan plain-clothes shot. Enjoy, and stay tuned, for there's more on the way!
0 4 / 0 1 / 0 7 It's no April Fool's joke. We are live. Welcome to the Forge web site, the latest exciting addition to the ongoing Forte Universe. Forge began as an idea for bringing some old Forte characters (all with plenty more stories to tell) out of retirement and back into the spotlight, and was introduced as a four-part origin story on the Forte '05 page. But I knew once I'd finished their first major tale (which took a long time, as you can guess by the size of the tale), I wanted to create a web page for the team all their own, a place to add new stories, art and the like as their saga continued. I managed to get a fire lit under me and just get it rolling, and here it finally is. The page itself is broken up into several areas, as you'll see, including the "About" area (with an essay on the creation of the team, some basic info on the group in brief form, and a rather large history of the Forte Universe, the universe Forge takes place in, just in case you're stepping into this universe by way of Forge for the first time and want to get up to speed), the "Cast" area (with writeups on all six members and a page for the supporting cast, which will grow as time goes along...and I also plan to get a villains page going once I start introducing some of Forge's adversaries in future tales), the "Tales" area (where Forge stories will be presented for your reading pleasure), the "Art" area (a gallery of amazing Forge character art from a number of fantastic young artists, just to help you put some visuals with the stories) and the "News" area (which will let you know what's been added to the site as we move forward). To start off with, the "Tales" page contains all four chapters of "Things Change", the story of how Forge came to be that sets up the characters, situations and settings, that was originally presented on the Forte '05 page. But as a special "grand opening" bonus, I've also added a "deleted scene" for you...a scene that ALMOST made "Things Change, Chapter Two", where another heroine almost made the team. It didn't end up working out, but I thought it might be fun to give you a peek at what might have been. I hope you enjoy the stuff here and stepping in on the ground floor of a new hero team's foundation, and hope you keep checking back for new updates (which, when they happen, will likely happen on the submission schedule of The Clobberin' Times Online, which means bi-monthly). I hope to get lots of cool new art for your viewing pleasure, and to add new stories to fulfill the promises "Things Change" sets up. Thanks for dropping in an checking Forge out, and welcome to San Francisco! Hope you survive the experience. (SOMEbody had to say it...)
