It is the time of Empires and Kings. Five major factions rule eighty percent of the world. Hostility between these nations is tempered only by continued threat of the unchecked use of super-powered operatives. As each nation continues to expand its own sphere of influence, non-aligned countries are absorbed in a wave of imperialism that has existed for over 200 years. The African continent, the Caribbean, and the moon become political battlefields for these five empires to wage wars of subversion and conquest.

It is 1998.

In the Far East, the Japanese Empire, under the rule of Emperor Nakamoto, controls most of East Asia and the Pacific Islands. Their historical enemy, Russia, has taken control of the rest of Asia and the Middle East under his majesty, Czar Piotr XIV. Once enemies, now allies from necessity, the Prussian Empire under the leadership of Kaiser Stefan II rules Central Europe. To the west, the Eternal French Empire commands the rest of Europe, Northern Africa and Quebec. Under the rule of King Charles XIX, the EFE poses the greatest threat to world peace.

It is this peace that has become the responsibility of the United States of America, under the current administration of President Fred Dalton Thompson and his Vice President, General Colin Powell. Providing a blanket of freedom and democracy to the millions living in the seventy-six United States and her territories, the Questors have vowed to protect American lives from all enemies, foreign, domestic, alien or supernatural. Their adventures, spotlighted in a weekly television program called "In Quest Of" have become a staple of American family life.

The Questors are:

Vice Grip (Steven Olson)

Team leader and strong man, Vice Grip was sent from a parallel Earth to this one by the same mysterious artifact that gave him his powers. Vice Grip is the main character of a comic book by the same name and is the favorite of children across America. He is perhaps the strongest man on the planet.

Sabot (John Millhouse Roosevelt)

A highly decorated military officer, and a direct descendant of Theodore Roosevelt, Major Roosevelt led a Mobile Infantry force known as the "New Rough Riders" into French
occupied Cuba and liberated the island and freed many American vacationers being held
hostage. Soon afterward, his Rough Riders were sent to investigate an alien spacecraft that
had gone down in Nebraska. Determining the aliens to be hostile, Roosevelt sacrificed
himself as his men made their escape from the area. In an ensuing firefight, Roosevelt
inadvertently damaged the craft's main power system and was immersed in an unknown
radiation. That accident left him with the ability to fly at incredible speeds and withstand
injury through impact. Taking the name "Sabot" as an insult to the French, he joined the
Questors where he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He serves as the team's
executive officer and tactical commander.

Blackwing (Jonathon Other)

Another visitor from a different dimension, Blackwing is a supernatural investigator. Originally calling himself Jubellon (a shortened version of his real name in the other dimension),
he changed his name to Blackwing after gaining mild vampiric powers in a battle with the
French Empire's most deadly operative, Marquis de Marson. Recently, Blackwing has left the
team on a leave of absence after an unprovoked brawl with the Confessor and denouncing Sabot as an "imperialist" on an installment of "In Quest Of..."

Confessor (Richard Cross)

Father Richard Cross gave up his career as a Navy chaplain when he killed a man in self-defense. He was soon visited by God in a vision which told him that his penance would be to walk the earth for seven years serving as the vengeance of the Lord. Completing his charge, the Confessor joined the Questors and continued his mission dispensing justice both at home and abroad.

Mandarin (Michelle Lee)

Born in American-controlled Hong Kong to mainland Chinese emigrants escaping Japanese
occupation forces, Michelle Lee was recruited early on by the CIA based on her exceptional
language skills and athletic ability. After training, she was posted to French occupied North
Africa posing as a member of an international Red Cross team to help war survivors. Discovered as a member of the CIA by the French Secret Service, the Quay d'Orsay, Michelle Lee
was subjected to several mind control experiments aimed at turning enemy agents against
their governments. The experiment resulted in unlocking Michelle's own latent mental
abilities. Using these new talents to escape, she made her way back to American territory
where the CIA trained her in the use of these abilities and honed her fighting skills. She joined
the Questors shortly after, taking the code name Mandarin.
