| Since Mist’s public relations
aren’t that great and Phantasm is a skulk-in-the-darker,
it’s up to Dr. Jackal to get his call on his
1-800-4-JACKAL to get him to be Grand Marshall of the Seattle Thanksgiving
Day parade.
Phantasm and Dr. Jackal are still stymied by the influx of Q
into Seattle. Info gleaned from UNCLE’s new base
in town, specifically from Sgt. Williams, a rather
enthusiastic temporary commader points to Seattle as a “test market”
for Q. Q is able to be orally ingested, and stored in extra-cellular
fluid throughout the body. It builds up and “crashes” the
body’s major systems, and is very addictive. It is synthetic,
but authorities have not had very good samples to analyze.
Phantasm gets the Sgt. to aid our heroes in a raid on Taco
Hut. Turns out he had stopped a robbery by addicts that needed
money for a fix. Sgt. Williams takes Sgt. Bill’s
TV and the little group set up a “sting”.
Unfortunately, Williams drops lingo that is too street smart, alerting
the pawn-house to a raid. Our heroes charge in, and come face to face
with The Sorceror, a rather windy magician, and Radion,
a while-haired energy projector, who tries to take off immediately.
Phantasm flies over the roof to fight Radion, who rather fearfully
admits she’s radioactive. When one of her blasts misses, she shows
Phantasm there is now way he’s going to stand up to that.
Inside, Dr. Jackal and the Sorcerer are busy trading blows. The Sorcerer’s
force-shield is barely keeping Dr. Jackal’s blows from doing major
damage. Finally, The Sorcerer is forced to summon an elemental to lift
Dr. Jackal several hundred feet in the air, then release him so he falls
into an old Studebaker plant. Ouch.
Meantime, out front, Phantasm smashes the hell out of Radion and takes
the opportunity to bust the face of a gun-wielding goon. Radion regains
consciousness and suddenly disappears.
Phantasm gets over in time to slam The Sorcerer against a wall, since
his force-field ran out of juice. Unfortunately, he could not do a blasted
thing about Dr. Jackals’s lovely fall and his meeting with the
insides of a Studebaker plant.
Turns out Taco Hut was a front for an illegal scheme to purchase stolen
goods.
