Post Comic-Con '08 Forte art in the Character Art gallery!

As for the pre-Con art, we've got three new amazing Forte 2K head shots from the awesome Kevin West, who's only two F2K heroes away from completing the whole set. Plus, the return of F2K's most prolific artist, Eryck Webb, with four new full-color duo shots, including Anvil/Mist, Nightshift/Secundus, Heatspell/Max and Nightsable/Rainier! But as for Con art, we start off with hands-down the biggest name to hit the F2K Gallery - comic super-star Humberto Ramos with his shot of Nightsable! We've also got a fanTAStic color Dyna Girl by Clone Wars artist Grant Gould, the return of Jeff Moy with a Seahawk, another returning favorte in Excalibur artist Michael Ryan taking on Dyna Girl, and an eye-popping color shot of Nightsable by Scott James.

The Forte Files

Over on the official blog of Forte, you'll find a newly added piece that starts of my "Why I Love..." series, detailing...well, why I love each of the Forte characters so much. And the series starts with Rainier, so why not check it out and join in the Rainier love?

Adventures

Two additions to the Adventures page this time. First, the origin story of Seahawk continues in “Seahawk: Number Zero – Part Two”, where we first leap back a year to 1998 to the moment that changed the destiny of Jared Banks forever, then back to 1999 where the pre-Forte Seahawk meets up with his mysterious partner and begins the hunt for an old foe – and ends up running into his first explosive encounter with a girl Forte 2000 fans know well. Don’t miss out!

And on top of this, a link has been added to the page to the new “Forte 2000 Soundtrack (Vol. 1)”. 38 songs have been collected to make up the first soundtrack for the Forte 2000 series, and on this page you’ll find a flashlink to the soundtrack’s page on iTunes, and a detailed breakdown of all the tracks and their usage. You’ve seen the sights of Forte – now hear the sounds!

New artsy goodness for you on the Character Art gallery, courtesy of a couple of known Forte 2K artists. First, Kevin West returns with a couple more dramatic color headshots of Forte 2000 heroes, this time adding Dyna Girl and Rainier. Then, after a long wait, we see the return of the amazing Dennis Martin Willman, and this time in full color, and with a whole slew of pieces! Check out his “Dark Lord Anubis”, “The Plotting of Erebus”, “Mr. Dusk”, “Dyna Girl”, “Savannah”, “Seahawk”, “Prowler, Toast and Blue Dragon”, “Bobby McMillan (Max)” and “Cincoflex in Repose”, and prepare to be blown WELL away. He’s just upped his grip on the gallery several times over! More to come from Mr. Willman as well!

New goodies in the Character Art gallery.

We've got a color Tinker shot from pro artist Kevin West, a foursome of shots of the next-gen Forte team "FourStar" from Katarina Marsh, and a fantastic color Nightsable from the amazing Chris Butler. It just...keeps...growing!

Adventures

Wow, 2008 already? Didn't we just start this site in...oh - 2002. Time DOES fly... As is shown in the new tale added to the Adventures page, "Seahawk: Number Zero - Part One". This story takes place in 1999, a Seahawk tale set months before Forte 2000 #1, and before our favorite new Seattle heroes met each other to restart the Forte legend. Enjoy the flashback, and meet Seahawk again...for the first time....

Gallery

A handful of new pieces added to the Character Art gallery.

Got some new artists joining the Forte family. First, Jason Pyke starts of with a duo of damseling - great shots of both Dyna Girl and Nightsable. Hard-working commercial artist Andy Fish brings us a gritty Seahawk, and Veronica Hebard gives us a very cool Nightsable. And fan fave TG Sangalang returns with a smokin' Moondancer for your appreciation, as does the magnificent David Enciso with his design for Masterpiece, the enigmatic master villain introduced in "Stakeout".

Adventures

One new addition to the Adventures page, but it's an important one. The story simply titled "20" is not only a milestone tale, starring every surviving Forte hero, past and present, but is also the sixtieth story to appear on the Forte 2000 site. We've come a long way with this thing! Not as far as Forte itself, and in this tale, we drop in on your favorite legends moments before they're honored before the world, and we take a look back at two decades of Seattle heroism.

Gallery

Just two new shots in the Character Art gallery.

There's a new artist in the F2K family, one known as Mike Powell, who serves up a delicious "cheesecake" shot of Dyna Girl. And for the holidays, Sean Harrington comes back with a Christmas Dr. Jackal shot for ya.

Adventures

The sole addition to the Adventures page this time around is a major milestone in the Forte universe. The tale called "Forte Forever" is the 20th Anniversary Forte adventure, a time-crossed epic that spans Forte's past...and threatens to be the end of Forte's future (not to mention past...and present...). Find out what happened when seven of the original Forte creators united in the city of Seattle to celebrate the event and create this tale for the ages, as Dyna Girl joins with Dr. Jackal, Vanguard, Lightsedge, Tomarssuk and Anvil to save the Forte legacy.

Gallery

Just a few pieces to add to the Character Art gallery.

It's all comeback artists this time around...and what a show! Sean Harrington knocked out this gorgeous Forte group shot for the Forte 20th anniversary, featuring a sampling of Forte members from the team's history (Eclipse, Anvil, Dyna Girl, Vanguard, Dr. Jackal, Tomarssuk and Lightsedge). And then the triumphant return of the amazing Garrett Blair for three new color Forte fems shots! Check out his Tinker, his Passport (Nightsable little sister...though this shot is of her a few years from now...) and Serenade, the ill-fated villainess from Forte 2000 #'s 2 and 3. And finally, Greg Moutafis pops in again for a very fun Dyna Girl.

BONUS

And don't miss out on the addition of the Forte Files, the new blog of the Forte Universe sites. Never be behind the ball on the latest news!

Adventures

Just one new tale added to the Adventures section this time. The story called "Stakeout" has all eight of the Forte 2000 characters in it, is set in April of 2003, and takes place during a...well, just look at the title. Written by Michael O'Connell, this story is a fun look at the less-than thrilling side of super-heroing.

Please also take note of a new page on the ForteUniverse site, one called "The Forte Online Chronology". There are quite a number of stories scattered througout the various ForteUniverse pages, and this new page lists them all--including Forte 2000 stories--in chronological order, with links leading to each tale. Hopefully this will make keeping track of all the goings-on in the Forte world easier, and help you Forte 2000 readers see where the stories here fit into the grander Forte scheme.

Characters

There's a new addition to the NPC Guide portion of the Characters page. If you head all the way to the bottom of the page, you'll find a new section on the Realmwatch, Forte's galactic allies. There's background on the Realm itself, and character writeups for each member of the Realmwatch hero team. Enjoy.

Gallery

Another San Diego Comic-Con has just passed, and that's certain to mean new and amazing art for the Character Art gallery.

Direct from Artist Alley at the San Diego Convention Center come five great new pieces. Legendary Marvel artist Bob Hall (75 years old and still gettin' it done) provided a dramatic Seahawk pencil and ink shot. Another famed Marvel artist, Terry Shoemaker, cranked out a gorgeous Nightsable shot. And to make the hat-trick, artist Jeff Moy, after doing such amazing Nightsable and Dyna Girl shots for us in the past, came through again with a beautiful and fun Tinker shot. And for anyone who hasn't discovered Josh Howard's work with Viper Comics yet (like his "Dead@17" comic), here's your chance to see why we've been waiting a couple of years for a chance to get some commissions from him. Josh's Nightsable and Dyna Girl shots will speak for themselves.

And then, from our eBay regulars, we've got some great stuff too (without having to travel all the way to San Diego for it). Eryck Webb made a comeback for a seriously awesome Rainier color shot for use as the profile shot on Rainier's character page. Like Jeff Moy, T.G. Sangalang rounded out his F2K ladies trio with a stunning Tinker inked shot. Prez returned with his first color work, providing a Nightsable. Sean Harrington knocked out an amazing color Dr. Jackal shot (Nightsable's dad, in case you forgot...). And then we have some newcomers from the auctions as well. DC artist Bill Marimon gave us a lovely watercolor Nightsable. Newcomer Dustin Evans hit the gallery with a hugely fun Seahawk interpretation (I guarantee you'll be seeing more of his work here). And while it's not a new shot, the Chuck Wojtkiewicz/Tim Watts Knightsabre shot (Nightsable's mom...the whole family's here...) has now been colored by L. J'amal Walton, colorist for The Nice Guy online comic.

Adventures

We've got three new additons to the Adventures section this time, all written by Michael O'Connell, and all from the all-new Forte.com site. This site simulates the secret Forte computer system, complete with a chat room (where you can read "Forte 2000 Chat", the historic Forte team chat transcript where the classic Forte heroes voted on making the "new" heroes part of the family just after Forte 2000 #3), a Message Board (where you can read "Poker in the Rear", a thread where Forte heroes old and new, in 2005, discuss an upcoming hero poker game), and the Forte Database (where you can read all the details about "The Bachelor Party of Vanguard", attended by Forte boys former and newer (not to mention C.I.A. strippers from another Earth...). All these tales are nice because they all, in their own way, bridge the gap between the new Forte and the old. Plus, the existing "Birthday Girl" email thread that had been in the F2K Adventures section has been reformatted for the Forte.com site and moved over there.

Gallery

And a few new pieces for you in the Character Art gallery.

Now a welcome regular in the Forteverse, Sean Harrington lights up the gallery again, this time with shots of Phantashia (a founding Forte member), Knightsabre (Nightsable's mom), and Wingboy (hero from another Earth and a very old pal of Forte). Bryan K. Turner returns as well, giving us a really cool Moonspider. Newcomer J. Brice Robertson takes a shot at Nightsable, and we have both his pencil work and an alternate version colored by Forte favorite David Enciso. A final newcomer is Thomas Redd, with shots of Max, Moonspider and Vortex. Enjoy him while you can. He will NOT be coming back. I ordered these shots over a year ago, and it was a year of excuses, then ignored emails, and finally the delivered art after 1) I badgered him daily for a refund for about six weeks straight and 2) I specifically told him I didn't want the art anymore but just my money back. Almost didn't use them, but I figured since I waited so long (and paid for them), I'd put them up for you. This is the last Redd art you'll see. Believe me.

And the return of Eryck Webb on the Eryck Webb "Other" Gallery! Mr. Webb came out of retirement briefly, so I hit him up for designs on the final three members of the Forte world hero team The Paragons...Knightmare, Starman and Avatar. Nice work! Check them out, and keep an eye out for the Paragons on their own page down the road. Plus, he pulled a dramatic redesign on classic Forte hero Tripwire that'll knock you out!

Adventures

There are five new tales in the Adventures section, all written by Michael O'Connell. Well, for readers of all the Forte sites, they're not "new", per se. These are tales from the Forte '05 and just-recently-debuting Forge sites, ones that involved Forte 2000 characters. The first is a Nightsable story called "You're a Good Man, Andy Clayton", one that was written some time ago and has been up on the '05 site, but hadn't until now been linked the F2K Adventures page. It delves into Nightsable's past, and lets us take a trip to her Earth. Plus, it sets the stage for the next generation of Forte adventure--FourStar--that will be coming to the Forte Universe sooner than you think! But the big hit, and the one with the biggest impact on the Forte 2000 team (and the Forte Universe itself) is a four-part origin story for a new Forte Universe team called Forge. Sydney Todd-Strange (formerly Forte founding member The Mist) is the commander of UNCLE's San Francisco branch, and her city has become overrun with villainy and evil. Looking for a solution, she comes up with an unexpected one, and one that involves Forte heroes from several different eras. The genesis of this new team has a major impact on Forte 2000, and changes things with the team forever. This story contains historic Forte 2000 moments that you definitely don't want to miss, so don't! Check out all four parts of "Forge: Things Change", and see what all the excitement's about!

Gallery

Wouldn't be an F2K update without some fantastic new art in the Character Art gallery, would it?

Jason Nantz comes back with another round of Forte character art with the additions of Phantashia, Knightsabre and Mist. Also back after his BREATHTAKING debut with his Forte 2K girls pencil art is Sean Harrington...but this time in color! We've discovered that as beautiful as his pencils are, his color works are absolutely mouthwatering, so we've got Sean on deck with stunning full-color Forte heroine art, starting out with Moondancer, Heatspell, Mist, Nightshift, and the colorized version of his original Nightsable pencils. Don't be surprised if you start seeing a lot more of Mr. Harrington's work around here. And master David Enciso graces our page once more with a shot of one of the few Forte universe women he HASN'T drawn...Quiver (from the Crusade world).

And we've got a couple of very welcome newcomers. First, Yapi Santiago, a very talented young woman from the Philippines with an anime tilt, gives us a very fun shot of the three Forte 2K girls enjoying a little downtime (and some popcorn). And from the pages of Identity Comics, Bryan K. Turner debuts with an awesomely fun Vortex color shot. He's another one you're probably going to see more of, because he's got such a unique style that he really lights up the gallery.

Gallery

New new tales this time around, but lotsa new art in the Character Art gallery!

Amazing new color Nightsable from "Oddly Normal" creator Otis Frampton! A trio of awesome Forte lady shots (Moondancer, Nightshift and Thresher) from the returning Jason Nantz. A full Forte 2000 group shot from Brazilian artist Luis XIII! New Forte artist Sean Harrington starts off with a BANG with sizzling Dyna Girl, Nightsable and Tinker shots! Nathan Alexander Getz "getz" busy with his first gallery shot, a Dyna Girl and Nightsable piece! Also straight outta Brazil, Jean Sinclair returns with a Dyna Girl/Rainier piece! Rising star "Prez" debuts with two eye-popping shots...Dyna Girl and Moondancer! Comic pro Chuck Wojtkiewicz steps in with a mind-boggling Knightsabre shot (Nightsable's mom, seen back in the day), with inks by Rainier creator Tim Watts! Adrian Rivero steps up with a trio of Forte heroes....Seahawk, Vortex and Moonspider! Dennis Martin Willman, creator of the famed Women of Forte shot from a while back, returns and beefs up his row with six new works...Heatspell, Knightsabre and Dr. Jackal, Phantashia, Quiver, Shrike and Cincoflex, and Thresher! And finally, famed comic pro Andy Price blows the gallery APART with his gorgeous full-color Tinker/Nightsable/Dyna Girl shot that has to be seen to be believed!

Adventures

Two new stories in the Adventures section, by two different Forte writers. First, the "Hotline" tales continue with a new installment called "Hotline 6: 9-1-1", written by Michael O'Connell. An unexpected and shocking turn brings Dyna Girl and Matt together, with a few guest stars thrown in as well. And Aaron Storck returns with the action-packed thriller called "... The Sorceror's Apprentice", a tale starring all the Forte 2000 heroes (and the first F2K tale set in 2006) that brings back a classic villain from the original Forte era...with a twist. Can Forte stop three heirs to a mystical legacy before one of them inherits unthinkable power?

Gallery

And it's another big hit to the Character Art gallery!

First off, to make things a little easier on those checking back in, we've added a handy new Newest Additions section at the top of the gallery showing what's been added since the previous update. Hope that helps.

Newcomer Kevin Miller blows the ROOF off the joint with a couple of amazing shots of Dyna Girl and Nightsable. WOW. Speaking of wow...pro artist Paul Abrams joins the Forte fold with some stunning headshots of Nightsable and Dyna. A huge breath of fresh air comes all the way from the U.K., as Brit artist David Golding brings some hugely fun Forte "pogs" to the mix. Artist Gabe Pena brings a trio of Forte fun with shots of Max, Nightsable and Max. Eryck Webb returns--but sadly, maybe for the last time, as he's taking a long break from drawing to focus on his design work--but he goes out with style with a pair of Forte duos...firstly a little girl talk with Nightsable and Tinker, and second with a smokin' stakeout moment with Seahawk and Forge's own Nightshift. (And be sure to check out the Eryck Webb: Other gallery for some rockin' non-F2K art as well!). Gene Espy put a lot of work into a temptatious Dyna Girl shot, and newbe Jason Nantz threw down with three awesome shots of the F2K girls. Brazilian artist Jean Sinclair sounds off with a BANG (holy crap!!) in his first Forte offering, bringing Seahawk and Nightsable to remarkable life. And finally, David Enciso brings a little Christmas cheer (trust me, you'll cheer...) with an awesome Dyna Girl yuletide masterpiece!

10/01/06

Adventures

We've got three new stories in the Adventures section, two of them sequels to "Forte Chronicles #1: Into the Realm". The first, "A Hangover Far, Far Away..." takes a look at what happened to Dyna Girl and the three former Forte heroes during their time off in space, things both incredible and unpleasant. A fun tale with a galactic flavor. And second, Dyna Girl is back on Earth in "R.C.D.G.", and using her experiences during the journey to torture poor Rainier. Both written by Michael O'Connell.

And a new series of tales titled "Welcome to the Working Week" begins here, a series that will look in on the "day job" lives of the Forte heroes. Aaron Storck punches the clock first with "Holly's Story", a tale of car shopping on a rainy day with Holly (Dyna Girl) and her business partner, Kelsey.

Gallery

More new Forte shots in the Character Art gallery? What do YOU think?

Eryck Webb is back to color more existing Forte art, so his "Dyna Blitz" shot of Nightsable and Dyna Girl, which was just screaming for color, now has it. David Enciso is back, and has now officially drawn EVERY Forte heroine, past and present. He stuns us this time with the last of them...Telesis, Eclipse and Knightsabre. Wait, you're saying...he already DID Knightsabre. Well, actually, the one he did before lacked the Forte alum's famous purple hair. But that one also, as Aaron pointed out, would make an amazing "Professor Night" shot. Who? Stay tuned. We know stuff you don't... So a new Knightsabre to add to the bunch. Plus, an all-new Dyna Girl. I had found a picture on an internet ad on MySpace that so made me think of her, so I sent it to David and had him "Dyna it up", which breathtaking results. And while Thresher isn't an official Forte member (her dead brother with the same hero name was), her hanging around the F2K gang has earned her representation on the Enciso section of the Gallery. David also took on a new heroine to the Forte universe...Heatspell. You can learn more about her in the Forge stories over at the Forte '05 site. After that shot, you'll probably want to. Finally, I did another "Forte Faces" compilation with David's shots, as he just does such nice work with those.

We've got another newcomer who announces his presense with AuTHORity! Welcome to the gallery, TG Sangalang. When you see his gorgeous Nightsable and Dyna Girl shots, you'll see why these almost certainly won't be the last ones we'll be seeing from him.

And finally, a very nice and unique Nightsable comes to us courtesy of the talented Erica Batton. I will say again to those who've missed the point...yes, women can draw comics too! Loving the fact that our gallery is becoming such a testament to that...

08/06/06

Adventures

Three new tales in the Adventures section, and all of them further sequels to the "Hotline" story arc. In "Hotline 3: 976-FORTE", another of the unwanted calls comes in on the formerly-secret Forte/police line. But this time Nightsable, Dyna Girl and Rainier are ready. In "Hotline 4: Midnight Caller", Dyna Girl places an unexpected call, which turns into a rather emotional night for her. And finally, in "Hotline 5: Datline", we pick up about three weeks after the last call and the unusual phone relationship is still going...and Dyna Girl has plenty of dating advice to offer along the way. Again, of these are done in that phone transcript format the "Hotline" stories started with, so hope you have fun with them.

Gallery

And another big update to the Character Art gallery this time, thanks to a bunch of old commissions finally coming in and to my trip to the San Diego Comic-Con. First, regular F2K artist Eryck Webb is back in the house with a new pencil-and-ink shot of Nightsable and Dyna Girl. Plus, he's gone back and added color to a couple of the old pencil shots, so be sure to check out the Dyna Girl and Moondancer/Rainier Beach shots that got the Ted Turner treatment. The stunning color work of David Enciso continues with the very welcome additions of his renditions of Knightsabre, Cincoflex, Chill and Phantashia (only two more to go and he will have drawn every Forte female, past and present!). I also put together a little collage of facial close-ups from some of the Encisco shots, because he does SUCH amazing faces and it irks me to reduce them and make you miss out on the detail. There's some fun stuff from newcomer Jesse Garza, who did an F2K girls shot and a Moondancer solo. Another newcomer, Rebecca Ivic, brings a beautiful color style to her wonderful Dyna Girl/Nightsable and Tinker shots. The artist known as Jester debuts on the gallery with some amazingly fun and unique Dyna Girl and Tinker works. The artist of indy comic Gravy Boy, Brian Shearer, hits us with a shot of each of the Forte 2K girls...Dyna Girl, Nightsable and Tinker. It's just not a gallery update without something new from the breathtaking style of Hoa Phong, so this time we're adding a Moondancer and a (jaw-dropping) Nightshift from him. And speaking of welcome returns! Jeff Moy adds his second piece to the gallery (after lighting it up so well with his earlier Nightsable shot) by giving us a Dyna Girl to enjoy. Can NOT get enough of his stuff (and it's not easy getting on his list at Comic-Con, believe me...).

Other big scores in San Diego included a fun Nightsable from Sergio Cariello (neat inpretation of her teleporting in), a Tinker from well-known comic artist (I loved his work on Flash, but he's now mainly lighting it up at Marvel) Scott Kollins, a Japanesque Dyna Girl from Henry Liao, a BEAUTIFUL watercolor Nightsable from James Pascoe, a BADass Seahawk shot from Rod Ramos, and, my personal favorite, just an unbelievably gorgeous Nightsable from Excalibur artist Michael Ryan. See it, and you'll know what I mean.

Some other newcomers did some WONderful stuff for us, too. Coby Cyr will absolutely amaze and delight you with her Passport/Frenzy full-color anime-style shot. Japanese artist Daikon gave her take on Nightsable with spectacular results. Veteran amimation artist Ric-Quiroz did a great Dyna Girl shot. But perhaps the biggest score for the gallery EVER is courtesy of artist Dennis Martin Willman. This was an eBay auction he had, offering a group shot of up to twelve characters. I did the math, and it turns out there are exactly twelve women who have been members of Forte. I went for it, and it turned out the Dennis loved the characters so much he put in much more detail in the shot than he does in his regular commissions. The result was staggering, and you'll see what I mean when you check out his Women of Forte piece (a reduced 18x24 shot). Prepare to be dazzled. Once again, a bunch of artists really shine and make the F2K Gallery even more impressive.

Adventures

Just one new story on the Adventures page this time, sorry. I know you've all been waiting BREATHLESSLY for the continuation of the "Age of Anubis" story after the big cliffhanger I left you with, but sadly, my real life has gotten out of control and right in the way of my fantasy life. Hope to be back to that very soon for you. But in the meantime, got a fun little tale for you called "Meet The Parkers". This is an early-on F2K story, set just a few months after the new team began, where Seahawk is invited to a getting-to-know-you dinner at the home of retired Forte legends Dr. Jackal and Knightsabre. It's a chance for old Forte fans to catch up on what's been happening with the old-school Forte alums in question, and get to see some very early Nightsable/Seahawk interaction (regular F2K readers know what's coming up for them in the future), and get a little Forte history lesson in the process. Hope you enjoy it.

Characters

I did an addition to each of the character pages for the main Forte heroes...mainly to help out artists I commission. I made individual galleries for each of the Forte 2000 members that include every art shot from the main gallery that each character is featured in. And I put a link for each of those galleries on each character page. So if you just want to stare at drawings of Dyna Girl for a while (pervert), now you don't have to dig through the main gallery to do it.

Gallery

And speaking of the main gallery...yet another MASSIVE UPDATE! I wanted to make sure this site was overflowing with lots of gorgeous art, but I think the word "overboard" is starting to apply. But in a good way... First, in Character Art, we've got a pair of amazing new color shots from Forte 2K's official art man Eryck Webb, drool-inducing shots of Dyna Girl, Nightsable and Moondancer from gallery newcomer Garrett Blair, the much-welcomed return of Jenni Chasteen with a sweet color Nightshift/Moondancer shot, a trio of F2K female shots from newbie Keith Dotson, the breathtaking return of David Enciso with three AMAZING new color pieces to add to his section (Moondancer, Nightshift and Mist), new stuff from old favorite Juan Falk (Tinker, Moonspider), the first appearance of the jaw-droppingly talented Paul Jaworski with a trio of Forte fems old and new (Dyna Girl, Mist, Nightsable), the triumphant return of fan favorite Hoa Phong with (not one but) four new Forte women shots that may make you shed a tear (Tinker, Knightsabre, Phantashia and Mist), HUGELY fun Forte 2K anime group shots (original four and second wave) from Toni Q., and a bunch of shots from first-timers that are really fantastic--Scotti Kimble's wonderful Thresher, Mark Kuettner's curvy Nightsable, Crash! Landen's oh-so-purple Nightsable, Peach Fist's vertically confused and brilliant Nightsable shot, Laura Wilson's mega-fun Dyna Girl, Scott Wolfe's high-flying (okay, she doesn't fly, but I won't tell him if you won't) Nightsable, and finally, a wondeful and colorful Forte 2K women trio by Brandy Woods.

Plus, while they don't feature any new art, per se, I've added gallery sections for Forte artist-creators Ben Bellot and Tim Watts, since their works throughout the site have been long overdue to be collected on the gallery.

In Issue Covers, there's one new one to scope out, the one that goes with the story on the Adventures page called "The Storm"--#135.

And in Wallpaper, there are two new ones featuring Nightsable (from the Crash! art) and Seahawk (from the Eryck Webb work).

04/01/06

Note, first of all, that art has now been added to all main pages, making them look just a WEE bit snazzier.

Adventures

There's a trilogy on deck from you at the Adventures page, courtesy of Aaron Storck. After the dramatic conclusion of "Mistletoe and Holly", the drama picks right up where it left off in the new "A Friend in Need" story, a tale that delves into Armor Security (and Forte) past and future, and puts Dyna Girl in a race against time to save an old friend. Loads of guest-stars, shocks and revelations. Check it all out in all three chapters: "Dirty Little Secret", "Second Opinion" and "Reflections".

Plus, there's a link to an all-new adventure that stars Dyna Girl alongside three Forte vets--Anvil, Tomarssuk and Lightsedge. It's the beginning of a new series called "Forte Chronicles" that teams up groups of current and former Forte members in new tales. In this one, there are surprising returns from both Forte 2000's and Dyna Girl's pasts, and a journey to the heart of galactic war that four heroes from Earth may be the only chance of stopping. Check out "Forte Chronicles #1: Into the Realm".

Gallery

Lots of new stuff to feast your eyes on this time around in the big (and getting bigger) F2K Gallery. First, in Character Art, a big helping of new Forte art, starting with new works by Eryck Webb, which include designs for every member of the Realmwatch, a fun Max and the Forte girls shot, and a stunning full-color Rainier and Moondancer shot. Plus, Mr. Webb does a couple of new Forge pieces over in the Eryck Webb (Other) Gallery. Plus, a gorgeous new color Tinker shot by David Enciso, a nifty Nightsable by Juan Falk, five brilliant new color pieces from Timm Gillette featuring the Forte girls, an impressive trio from newcomer Eric Lear, a Nightsable from comic artist Greg Moutafis, and a pair of shots (Nightsable and Dyna Girl) from an artist named Hoa Phong that will, I guarantee, take your breath away. Plus I did some paste-up group shots with existing art, too, just for fun.

In Issue Covers, there are four new ones to check out--#106, #189, #190 and #209.

And in Wallpaper, there are three new ones to pretty up your desktop, featuring the art of Hoa Phong and Eryck Webb.

02/01/06

Just one new tale, but a LOT of new art this update.

Adventures

A couple new little Forte tales on the Adventures page for you, one called "Hotline", by me (Michael O'Connell), and the sequel, "Hotline 2: Redial". Told in a slightly different style, these stories are transcripts of phone calls to the Forte police hotline, but don't end up being the police. It's Dyna Girl fun (and guests), for your reading pleasure.

Gallery

The Gallery page has now been divided into three sections--Character Art, Issue Covers and Wallpaper. As for character art, we have a HUGE new amount of it, much of it from Eryck Webb, but also gorgeous works from Timm Gillette, Joe Orsak, Nick Busby, Juan Falk, Nina Nguyen, Valerie A. Ryan and Davis Enciso. Plus, and old pencil sketch was BEAUTIFULLY colord by Jenni Chasteen! The art section has now been divided up, too, by artist. Oh, and speaking of Eyrck Webb, there's also a link at the bottom of his section to my Eryck Webb (Other) Gallery, which includes lots of art from elsewhere in the Forte universe (and beyond), so be sure to check that out. No new Wallpapers for you this time around, but there is one new cover added to the Covers gallery.

12/01/05

Just in time for Christmas, we "present" you with a GIANT new update!

Characters

Perhaps the biggest change is to the Characters page. We've totally redesigned it...into three pages. You've still got your main characters page with the members of Forte. But we've also added a whole new, and massive, NPC Guide, with full photos and bios for 75 supporting characters from the Forte 2000 universe, with seperate sections for UNCLE, the Forte Museum staff, and Armor Security. Note that if you click on the logos for UNCLE, The Forte Musuem or Armor, you'll get taken to a bio page for each of those groups. And friends of Forte aren't the only ones getting a new showcase. Let's not forget about the bad guys! The new Villain Guide highlights over 30 villains from Forte 2000 issues and stories, with art and bios for each.

Adventures

We've got MONSTER new Forte issues for you in the Adventures page. Forte 2000 #147 and Forte 2000 #148 are up, and are both epic continuations of the "Dawn of Anbis" storyline that's ripping the world of Forte 2000 apart. Within that story is also a fiction piece called "Interlude", a tale that takes place near that start of #147, showing a series of quiet (but some quite momentous) moments with the Forte 2000 characters...just before it all hits the fan. And Aaron Storck is back at the keyboard with two new tales. "Family Matters" stars Dyna Girl, but guest-stars many notables from the Forte universe--both F2K characters and original Forte characters--and is an action-packed adventure not to be missed. And for the holidays, Aaron cranked out "Mistletoe and Holly", a Dyna Girl Christmas story, one with even more guest-stars and a surprise ending. And also in Adventures...the borders of the issue write-ups, which have always contained some guest-star photo shots and villain art, have now been upgraded with all the new references from the guide, and each of those pics links right to that character or villain's bio page.

Gallery

It's official. The Gallery page has officially gotten gimungus. Since last time, I've been turning artist Eryck Webb into the official F2K artist, grabbing all kinds of amazing works from him showing all the Forte 2000 characters. Great, great stuff, and you'll want to take some time and check them all out. And also, there's a new "Cover Gallery" section there where I've taken some of the existing art and turned them into Forte 2000 issues covers. Kind of fun. Scroll down to see those.

The new update starts off with a new look!

Up Front

First up, I do hope you got a look at the AMAZING Forte 2000 group shot by Eryck Webb on the gateway page! I contracted him for a group shot in color, and it turned out so good that it inspired a new front page for the site. And from there, I went on to redesign the home page, hopefully making navigation through the site easier.

Adventures

And in fiction, we've got a new piece called "Birthday Girl", an e-mail correspondence between all the Forte 2000 characters, as written by the Forte 2000 creators.

Gallery

Remember last update when we started adding Forte 2000 character art to the Gallery page, and gave you six art pieces to check out? We've been busy since. We've now got over 30 pieces, and we're just getting started! This time around we've added lots of new Eryck Webb shots (been keeping him busy), plus works from Nikki Simpson, Rob Jones, Chris Tyner, Storn, Joe Orsak, and Jenni Chasteen.

Time for another update. New tales and new art!

Adventures

There's a new Forte 2000 issue to read...Forte 2000 #146: The Dawn of Anubis, Book One: "The Passing Shade". This is the issue where the Anubis story finally starts rolling, and one that jumps way back into the history of the first Forte campaign, revisiting an old ally of the team that has now fallen. The new Forte must find the answers behind this...and the search takes them to Rome, where they find a couple of ancient secret orders at war, and find the feud ties directly to the coming of Anubis. The clues start to fall into place...but will the mystery end in the twilight of all mankind? Jump and in join the suspense!

And in fiction, there's a new Aaron Storck story called "After Hours", one that stars Dyna Girl and Vortex, and shows some of the stuff you don't normally get to see with super-heroes...like what happens on patrol when the fists aren't flying. Another great character piece by Dyna Girl creator Aaron, with a voyeuristic twist.

Gallery

Last update we introduced the new "Gallery" page and gave you some nifty desktop wallpapers to check out and download. This time, we start feeding you some Forte 2000 character art. Most of the Forte 2000 creators (Me, Aaron, Ben, Kaye and Jeff) and Forte godfather and original GM K.C. all just got done going to Comic-Con International in San Diego. While I was there, I threw down for some F2K art with some of the very talented artists hanging out in Artist's Alley. I got a Nightsable from former Legion artist Jeff Moy, another Nightsable from a guy named John Watkins-Chow (this one in full color), and a color Seahawk from Batman artist Tommy Castillo. And then, when I got home, I took K.C.'s advice and decided to check out E-bay for commission art. First I found a gent whose work goes under the name "Studio Hades", and got a great penciled Seahawk from him. And then I found a guy whose work I really dug named Eryck Webb. As he wasn't charging by the figure, I started ordering some two-character shots from him. The first two of these are up in the gallery, a Nightsable and Dyna Girl shot, and a Moonspider and Seahawk shot. The next two pieces (rounding out the whole team) are already on order, and will be up next update. We're hoping to get a lot more F2K art to make the page even more fun to look at. Keep an eye out.

We're back, with new features, new tales, and new excitement! Let's see what's on deck!

Characters

Just some visual changes to note on the character pages...some rather "colorful" changes! Aaron "Dyna Girl" Storck has been practicing his computer coloring skills, and has gone through and colored the formerly black and white shots of the F2K characters. Don't they look snazzy? Check out the main page and the individual character pages. Also, the Storn art for Nightsable has now taken center stage on her page, as Storn's new design has now (as of issue #145) become Sam's official new look. Oh, and I've also added a link in the middle of Nightsable's origin, one that goes to the newly-added "D'Arque Dominion" story on the Forte Expanded Universe page that details the full Nightsable origin.

Adventures

Count 'em, ladies and gents ...three all-new Forte 2000 issues! After the live games have taken a breather (thanks to me moving to Sacramento and Aaron moving to Seattle), we're back to the virtual adventures, where the new team starts to come together as a unit, lots of nifty character stuff happens, big combat goes down, and the "Dawn of Anubis" story finally begins (it's been building since #140), which is leading up to the MASSIVE Forte 2000 #150 conclusion that will rock the whole of the Forte universe. Check out the latest additions: Forte 2000 #143, Forte 2000 #144, and Forte 2000 #145.

As for fiction, I've added a little tale called "Pastels" that's an early-on look at the romance of Rainier and Moondancer (not Moonspider) that will play a big part in the Anubis storyline. And it also finally deals with the "assumption" about Davis Alexander that started as a question among the players after reading his character page the first time... and Aaron kicks down with a new Dyna Girl story from back in her Armor days called "Frankie Goes to Holly Wood", where she has a chat with her pal (and then-romantic interest of Nightsable) Franklin Richards that ends with a twist...or two...

Gallery

Hey, look, a whole new section! You might have noticed the new "Gallery" icon on the front page. We've been meaning to add this for a while, a separate page for Forte 2000 visuals. Along the way, we'll be adding new F2K artwork to it. But to start you out, we've given you a wide selection of Forte 2000 Wallpapers! Most of these are designed by Photoshop guru Aaron Storck. There's one for each character...except for Vortex, as we're just waiting on a new piece of Storn artwork to get completed before Aaron can do that one. Nice work, Aaron! I added a couple myself with my own feeble (lack of) skills. Look for more of them down the road, and art to fill the page.

Index

Added something new to the Index page. It occurred to me that there's no way listed on the page for anyone to ask us any questions or make any comments about our site. So, since we've moved over to our snazzy new ForteUniverse.com server, it seemed a good time to create a Forte 2000 e-mail address. So if you've got anything to say, please, don't hesitate to drop us a line at forte2000@forteuniverse.com. Love to hear from you! And speaking of ForteUniverse.com, there's also a link at the bottom of the Index page now, a clickable banner or the site. In case you feel like checking out the other pages on the ever-growing Forte site (for example, there's a Nightsable story on the Forte '05 page you might otherwise have missed...and appearances by F2K characters in other stories there as well...).

3/16/05

Okay, only two years and three months later...no big deal. Zoinks!

The Forte2K site is back big time, baby! And we hope to make the updates a little bit more regular from here on in. But for now, let's check out all the new stuff for you to plow through!

Characters

No new characters added, but some new art is up. Check out Dyna Girl's page for hot new art from artist Aaron Sowd, and Nightsable's page for an interpretation from Champs artist Storn A. Cook.

Adventures

Lotsa new tales to check out. First off...two new issues! Like #140, these issue writeups are based on real game runs, not fictionalized ones. Forte 2000 #141 is from an online game session we ran, and you can read the summary, but also, if you're looking for a little more flavor, you can read the entire online transcript of the run. Forte 2000 #142 was the big game run at Comic-Con International in San Diego in July of 2003...and it guest-starred several of the original Forte players bringing back their best-known characters (thanks, Jeff, Randy, Adam, Jim...and Martin!).

But there's still plenty of fiction for you. Aaron Storck loads us up on more Dyna Girl history with the tales "Tell Her What She's Won, Bob...", "Hooray for Holly Wood", and "Intervention". There's a tale from me starring Seahawk and Tinker (and more...) called "Four's Company". And, finally, we've got a Tinker tale written by Kaye Bellot! Woo hoo! It's called "Date Night", and it's the first of many to come, we hope!

12/15/02

The addition of this news page comes on the heels of the first major Forte 2000 site update...and after the first live Forte 2000 game!

Characters

A very exciting time in the characters section, as the "Second Wave" of Forte 2000 characters has been added--read all about Dyna Girl, Nightsable, Moonspider and Vortex.  Also, a new Lucy Toy photo has been added to the Tinker page, and Seahawk's arch-foe Stingray can now be seen on the hero's page (I'd suggest checking that before reading "The Storm")

Adventures

The most exciting addition to this page is the write-up for Forte 2000 #140...the first live Forte 2000 adventure.   And there's some new fiction to check out, too.  "The Storm", written by me, is the first large Forte 2000 fiction piece, a big, dramatic finale to the first era of Forte 2000.  And, just to spare everyone from being stuck with nothing but my writing, Aaron Storck has added several Dyna Girl short stories that detail the pre-Forte backstory of the new Forte heroine.  Read all about it in "Coffee on a Rainy Morning", "The Long-Awaited Origin of Captain Patriot", "Kid, You Could Be Making HUNDREDS of Dollars Playing in the Pros...""Yesterday's News" and "There's GOT to Be a Morning After...".

Note, also, that handy numbering has been added to each entry, for those of you wanting to keep the timeline straight.

Frequently Asked Questions

A handy FAQ page has been added, to help you sort through some of the ins and outs of the whole Forte 2000 experience.  New questions, and answers, will be added along the way.
