Miguel Garcia grew up in an impoverished but loving home in East Los
Angeles. While he spent his fair share of time in trouble with the
police at an early age, he never got caught up in the gangs or drug
trade that killed his brother Richie. After the death of his brother,
Miguel poured all of his efforts into boxing, spending every free moment
he had training for the sport.
Then at the California State Golden Gloves amateur boxing tournament,
Miguel Garcia finally had his shot. He advanced all the way to his
division finals only to lose by decision. Devistated after the loss, he
was approached by Professor Maxwell Ravenscroft who offered him a chance
to make something of himself and take care of this family.
Upon his acceptance of the offer, Miguel was relocated to NRG Labs in
Seattle where he underwent a battery of treatments that gave him
superpowers. He found that he had the ability to increase, decrease, or
even to focus and redirect gravitational forces. For the next year or
so, Miguel Garcia learned how to control his powers, and by proving his
mastery over his newfound abilities, he was offered a place in NRG's own
super-team: Armor Security.
