Growing up in the Woolloomooloo suburb of Sydney, Beth Fletcher saw the tremendous discrepancy between the "haves" and the "have nots." Determined to make sure that she was in the former category rather than the latter, Beth used her natural good looks and started a successful modeling career at age 17. Unfortunately, that career was cut short when she literally exploded with energy and ruined a photoshoot that would have launched her onto the international scene.

Her modeling career in shambles and with a lawsuit for damages and injuries pending from the photographer and several others at the shoot, Beth saw few options before her. That was when she received an offer from a research lab in the United States: NRG Labs would make her looming financial problems disappear and help her learn to control her powers. Jumping at the opportunity, Beth was brought to Seattle where she began to undergo a rigorous training and testing regimen. A year later, Beth Fletcher was ready to reenter normal life. Her impressive ability generate tremendous energy was now under control, and she could now focus those energies into concussive blasts. Calling herself "Shockwaive," she became a superhero and using her new-found exposure as a member of Armor Security, she has resumed her modeling career.
