First Appearance: Forte
2000: "Tell Her What She's Won, Bob..." From the time he graduated high school, Colin Wang has been on the fast track to success. After college, he was recruited by the FBI and graduated near the top of his class at Quantico. While he enjoyed several successful years and a number of choice assignments while at the Bureau, he found that he most enjoyed the inter-agency operations with UNCLE that he was assigned to. He decided after an unusually long (and tiring) undercover operation that he wanted something a bit more "high-profile," and applied for a transfer to UNCLE. He quickly worked his way onto one of the newly-formed STRIKE teams. Using his gift for maneuvering and manipulating bureaucracies, Wang soon became the head of STRIKE for the UNCLE office in Los Angeles and became the youngest agent ever promoted to the rank of Commander. While the rank of Commander was usually assigned to field office heads, Wang convinced the UNCLE brass that due to the number of STRIKE teams operating out of the L.A. Regional Office, each team needed a Captain to lead it. And, naturally, a full Commander should be assigned responsibilities over those STRIKE teams. Many in the UNCLE organization resented the move and Commander Colin Wang was marked by many of the "old school" as a rank opportunist. As a field commander, Colin Wang is a true professional, as good as any in the organization. As an administrator, he has earned the favor of most of the key decision-makers in the UNCLE command structure and thus knows how to get things done. As a trusted colleague, Colin Wang leaves much to be desired, as he is considered by many (including several of the leadership at Armor Security) to be looking out for his own interests first and foremost. |
