NPC Guide

The company that would become Armor Security began as American-Canadian Engineering Security (ACE Security), a security firm that employed a lone costumed operative, Triphammer. The company was bought up in 1990 by the Seattle-based Newcastle Corporation, had a name-change to Armor Security, and added several new super-powered employees--Grav, Riptide, Shockwaive and Tracker. The heroes became a high-profile team known as "Armor", while the ACE Security division was relegated to standard security contract jobs. Armor operated mainly in Seattle, and often acted in a rival capacity to Forte, and animosity existed between the two groups in the early days. The destruction of NRG Labs, the parent company of Newcastle, eventually led to the dissolution of the more expensive Armor branch, while ACE's resources were sold off to Ares Global Enterprises.

After several disastrous attempts by Grav to reform his former teammates into a new company, three of the former heroes, in 1996, took on a security job for Reed Richards in Los Angeles, providing protection for a science and tech convention held at the Baxter Building called FantastiCon. They foiled a villain theft at the convention, and the high-profile success led to the formation of a new Armor Security, with start-up capitol provided by Richards, who agreed to lease several floors of the Baxter Building to them and act as chairman. A sleek, highly-publicized new L.A.-based hero-for-hire business began, and the new Armor began to add new supers to their existing numbers, including Dyna Girl, Pixie, and The Voice.

A company that hires both heroes and crack security operatives to corporations and individuals, Armor Security has established itself as the future of on-demand defense and protection. Its heroes also operate as pro-bono supers between assignments, an arrangement that helps strengthen their corporate image and profile and benefits the southern California community at large.

The former animosity between Armor and Forte is a thing of the past, especially due to Dyna Girl having come from Armor to Forte in 2002, creating a bridge between the groups. The two teams work together when the situation arises, and both consider the other to be trusted friends and partners in heroing.
