The daughter of a well-to-do family from Vermont, Claire moved to Seattle to further her career in art history, and soon met an engaging and attractive young high school science teacher, and former Gotham City PD bomb squad officer, named Paul Seaborn (Vortex). The pair became a serious item, though she still does not know that he's really a super-hero and member of Forte.
