The prince regeant of the Cassian people--an ancient aquatic race descended from the Homi Magi that live secretly in a hidden city called Stonghold in the depths of the Pacific off Washington--Kell became romantically involved with a girl named Thresher when the sea-going girl--and sister of the deceased original Forte hero of the same name--crossed his path. Like the rest of his race, he avoided the surface world, until a group within his people conspired to bring their banished brother race--the Karrigon--back to overtake their former kingdom, now the city of Seattle. He joined with a new Forte team to stop the incursion, and overcame his distrust of surface-dwellers to fight beside them. Kell has sided with Forte since in times of need. The son of the aging king rules his people, along with the Council of the Watch, with fierce determination and unwavering belief in their ways.
