The arguably paranoid publishers of an underground newspaper called "The Lone Gunman", the trio known as the "Lone Gunmen"--a group made up of military and information systems expert John Fitzgerald Byers, communications expert Ringo Langly, and surveilance man/hacker Melvin Frohike--are conspicary theorists who investigate the stories that no one else will touch...or believe. They ran across the Forte heroine Tinker early in her career and the four worked together to uncover a corporate murder cover-up. Since then, Tinker has turned to them when she's needed information that only their particular skills can uncover.
