| Sabrina Knight-Parker
"Knightsabre" (retired)
|
First Appearance: Forte #55 (original), Forte 2000 #142 (latter) Given a rare herb to save her life while on scientific expedition with her scientist parents, Sabrina Knight gained the abilities to transform into the statuesque and powerful Knightsabre, not only super-strong but able to teleport dimensionally. She eventually moved to Seattle and joined the local hero team, Forte, and soon fell in love with teammate Dr. Jackal (Jack Parker). However, she soon discovered that their "coupling" was mutating him and driving him insane, and they both discovered that their powers came from being Scions...or children of the gods, descendents or inheritors of the powers of members of the race of Homi Magi. Both being Scions was making their being together impossible, and Sabrina elected to give up the powers of Knightsabre so that the two could marry. Tragedy struck when they discovered that their twin daughters should have been triplets, and one of their daughters was mystically stolen away at conception by Lucifer D'Arque, an arch-nemesis of Forte, and raised to adulthood in a dimension outside of time and twisted into the mad villainess made Hellequin (and/or Black Rose). This daughter Sabrina had never known died in the final confrontation with Forte trying to raise her dark lover from the grave. Sabrina continued her scientific career working at Questar Labs and raised their daughters along with the retired-from-heroing Jack. But unknown to all, D'Arque struck from beyond the grave and captured Sabrina's soul--or at least the good part of it--leaving her dark side behind which became the murderous Professor Night. She committed many crimes and several murders as Professor Night before being discovered and her soul returned. Living with what the uninhibited part of her had done, and under watch by UNCLE (she was not prosecuted for her crimes due to the unique nature of the circumstances and the impossibility of properly trying her for them), Sabrina slowly pulled her life back together and gained new hope when a miracle came into her life. The daughter that was lost to them--another version of her, at least--was found in an alternate dimension during Forte's final battle against D'Arque, and Samantha Parker (Nightsable) returned to Forte's Earth and became a part of the Parker family, mending many of the heartbreaks they had all suffered through. Sabrina now works full-time at Questar again (having regained the trust, finally, of her friend and employer, Johnny Quest), but much of it is from home, where she focuses on creating a (finally) safe and happy life for her family. |
