Max Toy

Inheritor of the family's long-standing Seattle restaurant, the Green Dragon, Max Toy had held other plans as a young man going to UCLA. But the call of the family business brought him back to Seattle. It was at a catered wedding rehearsal at the restaurant that he met the man who would become his life partner, Geoffrey (ironically, it was Geoffrey's wedding rehearsal). His life took a turn when his brother James--along with Max's sister-in-law Lily and nephew Daniel--were killed in a forest fire in Yosemite. Max and Geoffrey took in Max's surviving niece, Lucy, and raised her as their own in the apartment above the restaurant, giving her a place of warmth and love to grow up in. Max continues to run the Green Dragon, and has great pride in his niece, whom fate turned into the Forte heroine Tinker and the pride of the Seattle Chinese community.
