Onyx

A scientist whose unauthorized experiments changed his molecular structure, Onyx has diamond-hard jeweled skin and can alter his height and density at will. Stuck in this form, and still looking for a way back to his old self, he's turned to crime to finance his ongoing research...and to gain wealth, because wealth, in his opinion, breeds acceptance, something he's sorely lacking with his new freakish look, and desperately desires. He's very touchy about his appearance, and will quickly beat anyone who makes a remark about it. Very strong and incredibly tough to harm, Onyx is more than a handful for any hero--or group of heroes--that gets in his way, and he's given Forte a couple of very tough fights in his run-ins with them.
