Already having the worst day of her life--finding out that her husband was leaving her for her younger sister, and losing her job as a computer analyst showing up late one time too many after her big fight with him--Kayla Hamilton was dealt the final blow when her car broke down near a battle between between the Paragons and an ancient storm demon. Struck by a mystical bolt of lightning, she was transformed into a being of pure elemental electricity. Finally snapping, she attacked the Paragons and fled the scene and went into hiding, trying to deal with what had happened to her. Cursing her old life and seeing this as a sign of a new beginning, bitter and hardened, she soon turned to villainy, feeling the world owed her for all it had done to her. Working freelance, she has developed relationships with other mercenary villains and found a life with them. The Paragons are still searching for her, feeling responsible for her condition, and are looking for a way to reverse it.
